Stay calm. Don’t be in a hurry.
Be empathetic. Â Show you are concerned.
Heavy snowfall and extreme cold can immobilize an entire region. Â Even areas that normally experience mild winters can be hit with a major snowstorm or extreme cold. Â Winter storms can result in flooding, storm surge, closed highways, blocked roads, downed power lines and hypothermia. Â Be prepared for slippery roads, limited visibility, and use caution when driving.
All acts of violence or criminal behavior should be reported as soon as possible.  Violent or criminal behavior may occur anywhere, anytime. It is difficult to be prepared for the unexpected, but taking time to think about what you would do in certain situations could help prepare yourself for such an event.

Some typical characteristics, which in combination may trigger suspicion, are:

No return address or one that cannot be verified as legitimate.
